What you’ll do

We are lucky at Explore Tuscany: the Cinque Terre area is just a short drive away. This spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site needs no introduction, however there is a lot more to explore in its immediate vicinity, away from the crowds. A short distance north or south there are beautiful landscapes to be enjoyed, amazing tracks to be walked, nice little villages to be visited and lots of fun to be had. Take in the gentle coastal breeze and enjoy yourself!

We like saying that trails around this area are just one very long seaside lookout that stretches for many kilometres!

The ever-present views of the nearby Mediterranean sea, the beautiful cliffs, the wonderful coastal vineyards, the colourful houses nested on the cliffs and the amazing food we can get in every single village we visit will surround us when walking in this picture perfect land of amazing vistas and panoramas.

Despite their popularity, the hiking trails require a reasonable level of fitness that is often underestimated. For that reason, we run several tours in the Cinque Terre so we can adapt them to different levels of fitness and abilities. Walking Tours in Tuscany and Cinque Terre

what’s included

Food - Lunch: we will provide a substantial selection of delicious Italian snacks. However, there’s the chance to stop at one of the many restaurants in the area for some delicious local food.
Drinks - Coffee, tea, juice or soft drinks: we will stop for a break in one of the beautiul villages. Bottle of water: we will provide a 500 ml bottle for each guest. We will also have the chance to refill it along the hiking route.
Professional local guide - A private group led by a professional fully-qualified outdoor guide.

The area where the walk takes place is stunning so there will be many chances to stop and snap amazing photos of the gorgeous, UNESCO World Heritage listed villages. Hike along the Ligurian coast taking in the beauty or just walk part of this amazing trail, called the Sentiero Azzurro, enjoying some of the most stunning views you are ever likely to see: either way, this place will get right in your heart and you will be planning your return before you even leave.

Transport: due to its popularity, this area has very strict regulations in terms of car parking and private transportation. So the best way to get to the meeting point is by train. Please get in touch for more information.

Guest requirements

*We only run private bookings for groups of a maximum of 8 people. However, please get in touch if you’re a solo traveller so we will be able to find the best option for you.

All guests must notify us of any health issues that may impact their ability to walk with us.

The pace of the hike is always tailored to suit the individual group and abilities and though there are steep sections, they are do-able, with multiple breaks to allow everyone to enjoy it, and take plenty of pictures too. Guests should be prepared to walk for about 3 hours however we'll have plenty of breaks to reflect on local history, culture and lifestyle too!
